From my years behind the counter of a storage facility, I can not tell you how many times customers have said to me "I don't need to insure that junk!" Well, when something happens, I can tell you first hand, that is not the same thing they say when you call them with bad news.
If you are renting a unit, PLEASE ask to insure your items. Many storage facilities can help you find insurance. If not you may contact your home or renters insurance agent. You as a customer may be doing everything right to protect your unit. However if you search Self Storage in the news, you will find that other people may not be doing all they can to protect your items! From meth labs, to living in units, storage facilities have seen it all. Tenants have hit the gas pedal instead of the break and ran through another person's unit door! Storage managers have seen drug busts and fires and trust them when they say often times more than one unit is affected by bad decisions of one renter. So please take our advice and insure your junk, because if it was truly junk you would not be paying a monthly amount to keep it!

Y is for Yard Sale!
Yard Sale!
This tradition started many years ago when we heard a consistent need from our customers. They needed to get rid of some items in their storage units, but did not want to move it all home to sell. We also heard many of our customers say they lived in areas where yard sales were not allowed. So we began an annual Yard Sale!
The idea is that customers can rent a "parking spot" in our parking lot and move any of their items to this spot. The storage then invites the community, runs the ads and spreads the word to potential buyers. The public comes to one giant yard sale that is organized into many small yard sales! Each tenant runs their own sale, and it is a fun time!
